Sokol Chicagoland

Sokol Chicagoland, based in Downers Grove, IL, offers comprehensive gymnastics and physical education programs designed for participants of all ages and abilities. As an independent unit of the American Sokol Organization, we provide certified instruction in well-rounded gymnastics training with a focus on safety, skill development, and enjoyment. Our experienced instructors and assistants create engaging environments where students progress at their own pace, from beginner fundamentals through advanced competitive levels.

Our nine-month program runs September through May, featuring diverse activities throughout the year. Fall programming includes track and field competitions, volleyball events, and community engagement opportunities like Bring a Friend week. Winter months showcase boys and mens gymnastics skills days alongside rhythmic gymnastics programs for girls and women. Spring events feature exhibitions, calisthenic drills, apparatus competitions, and special number performances that celebrate participant achievements.

For advanced athletes, Sokol Chicagoland sponsors the G.I.J.O. artistic gymnastics team, which competes regularly at AAU Gymnastics competitions. Team members represent multiple Central District units and maintain membership in home gym classes. Classes accommodate students beginning in first grade through senior years, supporting lifetime fitness and personal development. Our multi-faceted approach combines physical training with educational, cultural, and social components, emphasizing physical and moral health, good citizenship, and continuous self-improvement.
